Thousands of visitors will descend on Liverpool tis May to experience Light Night - Liverpool's one-night arts and culture festival. On Friday 17th May over 50 of Liverpool's acclaimed arts & heritage venues will throw open their doors until late for fun-seekers of all ages.

Merseytravel are providing a free bus service around Liverpool City Centre on Friday 18th May for Light Night Liverpool events. The circular service will start at 8pm at Canada Boulevard operating a 10 minutre frequency around many of the art and heritage venues that are opening their doors for the festival.

Artists and schoolchildren across Merseyside are being offered the chance to showcase their work to thousands of commuters on Merseytravel's transport network, with the launch of the Art on the Network Competition for 2012.

Following an 18 month, £7 million programme of improvements to the Queensway Tunnel, Merseytravel has unveiled a unique first - an impressive piece of public art, set within a famous tunnel.

The third annual Art on the Network competition, which focused on poster art, offered artists from across Merseyside the chance to showcase their work to thousands of commuters and visitors, with the winning entries being incorporated into limited edition Merseytravel publications.
